Construction Project Manager:

Griswold Law is seeking a Construction Project Manager to concurrently manage and oversee 20-25 active construction projects, while ensuring that all construction timelines are met, and each project progresses within the budget. This entails traveling to properties throughout the state of CA, working with city inspectors and contractors to schedule and plan work, coordinate timelines and expectations, and monitor overall progress. The Construction Project Manager will work closely with the Operations Team to timely execute the day-to-day tasks for each project.

The Construction Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and leading all aspects of construction from initiation to closure, ensuring successful project delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality constraints. Our ideal candidate is a self-driven team player, who believes that collaboration, both within our team and with external stakeholders, is key to success. A successful Construction Project Manager is someone who takes the initiative and consistently drives timelines.

The Construction Project Manager will receive substantial training that will be customized to learning the ins and outs of health and safety receiverships while applying their knowledge of construction project management. The Construction Project Manager will collaborate with and receive guidance from various members of the Operations Team and will be responsible for ensuring that all construction timelines are current and up to date, actively manage and update the construction budget on an ongoing basis for each project, and act as the primary point of contact for city inspectors and contractors.


Essential Duties May Include:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop mitigation and contingency plans as necessary
  • Travel to receivership properties throughout the state of CA
  • Monitor project progress and performance and report on project status to the team
  • Ensure adherence to construction project management methodologies and standards
  • Ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality constraints
  • Drive continuous improvement of construction project management processes and practices


Education, Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of construction project management experience
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, and overseeing construction projects from conception to completion. Experienced in developing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Skilled in leading diverse teams of construction professionals, including contractors and vendors, to achieve project goals within specified timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with city inspectors and contractors. Experienced in conducting project meetings and inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying and addressing project issues, risks, and challenges in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards

 

Paralegal:

Griswold Law is looking for a Paralegal to assist with our growing receivership practice in Encinitas, CA. This is an opportunity to join a boutique law firm operating in the dynamic area of receivership law.

We are big on personal and professional development from within. Our ideal candidate will have a team-player mentality and a can-do, supportive attitude, with the desire to grow with us and contribute their existing skills and education.

The role of the Paralegal will vary day-to-day and will include filing and service of documents in all California counties, reviewing Court orders for pertinent information, maintaining the firm calendar, scheduling/coordinating and confirming court hearing dates, set-up of attorney remote Court appearances, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail. Specific receivership tasks include ordering and filing oaths and bonds, filing and serving monthly accounting reports for multiple properties, light bookkeeping, and managing multiple property trust accounts for our receivership assignments. The Paralegal will work closely with the Legal and Operations Team to timely execute the day-to-day tasks for each receivership project.

The Paralegal will receive substantial training that will be customized to learn the ins and outs of receivership law and practice while applying their legal skills. A successful candidate will have general civil litigation experience, as well as a desire to assist in our office’s role as a court-appointed receiver in real estate and business matters. 

 

Essential Duties:

  • Filing and service of pleadings in all CA counties (including e-filing)
  • Reviewing appointment orders for pertinent information
  • Maintaining the firm's legal calendar
  • Scheduling/coordinating and confirming court hearing dates
  • Filing and service of receivership monthly accounting reports
  • Monitors case dockets for updated hearing information and reconciles firm calendar accordingly
  • Distribute and handle incoming and outgoing mail
  • Set up court reporters and prepare/file Form RI-RE003
  • Research Court Local Rules (include filing and appearance information)
  • Orders office supplies and maintains inventory
  • Light office administration duties as needed
  • Billable time entry

 

Education, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess the right combination of a team-player mentality, the ability to take initiative, and the drive to work independently when necessary.

In addition, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of filing and service in California, including e-filing
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize
  • Reliable and highly self-motivated individual who holds him/herself accountable for goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team in the unique role of working on behalf of a Court-appointed officer
  • Prior experience in or knowledge about real property, land use, municipal, business, judgment enforcement, and/or bankruptcy litigation preferred
  • Experience or familiarity with Clio or related systems a plus
  • Position is Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, working in a physical office (open to hybrid arrangements)
